What Is the Employer Community of Practice?

The Employer Community of Practice (CoP) is a national, collaborative learning space where employers come together to:

  • Share experiences, challenges, and best practices

  • Learn from one another across regions

  • Co-create a curriculum for Cultural Broker employers

  • Strengthen leadership capacity across the settlement sector

This work is rooted in dignity, equity, and cultural understanding—and guided by those doing the work every day.

Why This Community Exists?

Cultural Brokers play a vital role in supporting newcomers and communities—yet many employers lack shared tools, language, and frameworks to support this work effectively.

This Community of Practice exists to:

  • Strengthen inclusive and culturally responsive leadership

  • Support employers working alongside Cultural Brokers

  • Transform lived experience into practical, sector-wide tools

  • Build safer, more respectful workplace environments

Together, we are building something that lasts beyond individual organizations.
